Self-Sustainable Democratic Hubs (SSDHs) are local community centres—physical or digital—that enable people to learn, organise, solve problems, and run their own affairs democratically.
They reduce dependency, increase dignity, and prepare people to face today’s challenges with knowledge, skill, and confidence.
The goal is simple:
“Empower a Wasti so that it can take care of itself—today and tomorrow—legally, socially, economically, and democratically.”
Education is the seed of self-reliance. Without academic strength, no community can grow democratically or economically.
Reason:
Without academic support, EWS children fall behind due to lack of resources, guidance, and structured study habits.
Practical Method:
Daily 2-hour free tuition by trained youth volunteers.
Use simple curriculum-based planning (weekly goals).
Monthly parent reports.
Connect students to scholarship portals.
Reason:
Most homes lack quality learning tools; Smart TV becomes a low-cost digital classroom.
Practical Method:
Install a Smart TV in common space / community hall / library.
Stream academic channels, BYJU’s free content, e-Balbharati, NCERT videos.
Keep 2–3 hours daily schedule: Maths, English, Science, GK.
A Study-Room Wherever There Is Space
Reason:
Most children do not have a quiet space for study; shared learning improves consistency.
Practical Method:
Convert any unused room, temple space, Buddha Vihar, or house verandah into a study room.
Provide mats, lights, charging ports.
Appoint a “Study Captain” to maintain discipline.
Reason:
Reading habit is the foundation of imagination, confidence, and vocabulary.
Practical Method:
Collect books through donation drives.
Categorise by age and subject.
Weekly reading circles, storytelling sessions.
Introduce “Book of the Month”.
Social strength creates unity. Cultural strength creates confidence.
(Sports, Physical, Social, Political & Legal Study)
Reason:
Strong communities grow when individuals have physical fitness, civic awareness, and legal knowledge.
Practical Method:
Weekly sports (kho-kho, kabaddi, fitness training).
Monthly civic lectures.
Basic legal classes: FIR, RTI, RTE, Domestic Violence Act, SC/ST PoA Act.
Social etiquette & teamwork activities.
Mock “democratic meetings” for children.
Reason:
Values, discipline, dignity, and Buddhist ethics create stable citizens.
Practical Method:
Weekly 1-hour values class.
Story-based Dhamma teaching for children.
Visits to Buddha Vihar and cultural sites.
Encourage practice of the 22 vows.
Democratic empowerment means knowing how the system works.
Reason:
People fear the system because they don’t understand it. Knowledge removes fear and dependency.
Practical Method:
Explain how Panchayat, Municipal Corporation, Collectorate, Police, and Courts function.
Create simple charts showing which office solves which problem.
Organise one “Government Office Visit” per month.
Reason:
Most people don’t know procedures, forms, rights, appeals, or deadlines.
Practical Method:
RTI workshops
Online portal training: Ayushman, Aadhar, Ration Card, Scholarships
“How to file a complaint” practical demo

UPI payments, banking skills
Basic computer classes
Reason:
Efficient communication reduces conflicts and increases cooperation.
